Spiritual Athlete

The Christian life compared to a foot race

1. Striving for the Prize - Do you not know that in a race all the runners run but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize (1 Corinthians 9:24; Galatians 2:2)

2. Hindrances to the Runner - You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? ( Galatians 5:7; Philippians 2:16)

3. Pressing toward the Goal - I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14)

4. Preparing for the Contest - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses , let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1)

5. A Good Finish - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7)

6. The Prize Won - Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous Judge will award to me on that day and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Universal Blessings

Blessing is a common word and very self explanatory. But what is really a blessing?
Blessing is a favor or gift bestowed by God. It means God is gracious. God is in control of everything. The five universal blessings are:

1. ETERNAL LIFE - If anyone eats of this bread he will live forever (John 6:51)

2. SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE - If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out my teaching (John 7:17)

3. SALVATION - Whoever enters through me will be saved (John 10:9)

4. WISDOM - If any of you, lacks wisdom he should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to him (James 1:5)

5. DIVINE FELLOWSHIP - If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come in to him (Revelation 3:20)

Powerful in its Influence

There are six authoritative influences that I quoted from the scripture:

1. A DEVOURING FLAME
Therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty says, because the people have spoken these words I will make my words in your mouth a fire and these people the wood it consumes - Jeremiah 5:14

2. A CRUSHING HAMMER
Is not my word like fire declares the Lord and like a hammer that breaks a rocks into pieces - Jeremiah 23.29

3. A LIFE-GIVING FORCE
So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying there was a noise, a rattling sound and the bones came together, bone to bone - Ezekiel 37:7

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God - Ephesians 6:17

6. A PROBING INSTRUMENT
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart - Hebrews 4:12

God's Love is Infinite


The love of God is infinite. Put God in the center of your life & let him dwell in your heart. Here are some reminders of God's love:

1. SALT - Matthew 5:13" You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out & trampled underfoot." For my understanding, Christians are good example for those people continuing doing bad things. Though, we are not perfect but by God's grace we can do it. That is why, we let Jesus resides in our hearts.

2. CANDLES - Matthew 5:16 " Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds & glorify your Father which is in heaven. " Psalm 119:105, Your word is a lamp to my feet & a light for my path. " Means, still we are a good example and a light to them so that the worldly people can see us how we walk in the Lord.

3. MUSTARD SEEDS - Matthew 17:20 " Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have the faith as small as a mustard seed you can say to this mountain, move from here to there & it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." As we know, that with God nothing is impossible.

4. BATTERIES - 2 Timothy 1:7 " For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid but gives us power, love & self discipline. " Means, there were times of ups & downs but we still realize God is always there for us. We always recharge the power through reading & meditating the word of God.

5. BAND AIDS - Exodus 15:26 " He said, If you listen carefully to the Lord your God & do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands & keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians for I am the Lord who heals you. " Means, when we have wounds we use band aids to help reduce the chance of infection & keeping the wound clean. And when we are sick God always heals us.

6. ERASER - Psalms 103:12 " As far as the e
ast is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. " Jesus died in the cross for salvation to save our sins.

7.
BUBBLE GUM - Isaiah 35:7 " The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs." The love of God symbolizes bubble gum because even how we are sinners still his love & compassion is sticky.

8. BUBBLE SOAP - Proverbs 18:4 " The words of the mouths are deep waters but the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling stream." Means, how marvelous & wonderful is the love of God for us.

9. LOLLIPOPS - Psalms 34:8 " Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed are those who take refuge in him. " Means, His love & mercy poured out constantly. I can say, the taste of serving Jesus is really wonderful.

10. CAR - 2 Timothy 4:6-8 " For I am already being poured out like a drink offering & the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight , I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous Judge will award to me on that day and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing. " Means, we have to race to the finish line with God.

Seven Beams of Mercy


The name Habakkuk is an unusual one of uncertain meaning. Some feel it comes from the Hebrew word Habaq which means "to embrace" Habakkuk chooses to cling firmly to (embrace) God regardless of what happens to his nation. With God's glory we can live with victory. There are seven beams of mercy.

1. We shall not die - In Habakkuk 1:12 Lord are you not from everlasting? My God, my Holy One, you will never die. You Lord, have appointed them to execute judgement; you my Rock has ordained them to punish. Even we die in a tragic death, and that death is so called physical death into a corruptible body. This emphasis, we will not die into spiritual death because we do have an incorruptible body. Thus, I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live even though they die. And whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this? John 11:25-26.

2. The just shall live by faith - In Habakkuk 2:4 See he is puffed up, his desires are not upright but the righteous will lives by their faithfulness. In the sense, we will live by faith & his mercy endures forever. Thus, it says also in Romans 1:17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed - a righteousness that is by faith from first to last just as it is written: " the righteous will lives by faith. "

3. The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord - In Habakkuk 2:14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. This means, we bring back the glory and honor because He alone is worthy to be praised.

4. The Lord is in his holy temple - In Habakkuk 2:20 The Lord is in holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him. The emphasis, our body is the temple of God. Let the Lord dwells in our heart so that we are all pleasing to him. It is also called a living sacrifice. Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters in view of God's mercy to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is true worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will ( Romans 12:1-2 )

5. Even in wrath, God remembers mercy - In Habakkuk 3:2 Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds Lord. Renew them in our day, in our time makes them known; in wrath remember mercy. As we all knew the life of Jonah, he was running away from God. Even in God's wrath He provides mercy. " Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights - Jonah 1:17"

6. God goes for the salvation of His people - God wants to bless his people and gives eternal life. He places compassion in our lives. In Habakkuk 3:13, You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot.

7. Even in hard times we can rejoice in the Lord - Habakkuk 3:17-19 " Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. For the director of music on my stringed instruments. The emphasis, how marvelous & awesome is He that is why we will rejoice despite the hardship we had in our lives. Rejoice in the Lord always - 1 Thessalonians 5:16.

Two types of Christian

Possessing Christian means to those who really possess Christ. In Ephesians 3:17-19 " so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have powered, together with all the Lord's people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.

Professing Christian means is half bake or no changes in life despite they are claiming that they are Christian and knowing Jesus. In 1 Corinthians 3:1-3 " brothers and sisters, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk not solid food for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarrelling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere human beings?

So think about it, what type of Christian applies your life? I hope this will enlightens our spiritual lives. I am just sharing about this do not get me wrong because I am not judging or questioning individuals lives. Thus, in Matthew 7:1-2 Do not judge or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

Great Thursday

Good morning! Today is a brand new day that God give us again. Let's thank the Lord for his goodness and his unfathomable love for individuals. After I wake up, I thank God right away then meditate the word and pray.

Here is the prayer guide for the beginning of the day. Oh Lord my God, grant me to greet the coming day in peace and guidance, help me in all things I do and to rely on your holy will. In every hour of the day reveal your will to me and thy will be done. Bless my dealings with all people who surrounds me. Teach me to do your will throughout the day with peace of my soul and with firm conviction that your will governs all. In all my acts and words, guide my thoughts and feelings. Give me strength to tackle the burden of my weakness through out the day. Direct me with your will and teach me to pray. For you alone our God eternal through out earth and heavens above.

Tribal Ministry 2005




I absolutely missed working in a mission especially in tribal ministry. Though, it was really difficult for me but by God's grace I did it. How I wish I can work again. Remembering my experiences working in a tribal mission, it was very difficult to handle people like them aloof to the society. Their lives, as I pictured out they are very happy despite the hardship in their living. Even food, shelter and clothing as basic needs they find it difficult. My pleasure to see them again if I have time during my vacation soon.

ABC to receive Jesus

Despite the worlds are sinners ( world represents that we people are sinners ) God has made perfect Salvation simple for us. According to the context of John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have the everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him. In Romans 10:13 For whoever shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved.

Likewise, your Salvation experience is the beginning of your personal relationship with Jesus Christ the Savior. The simple steps to salvation are A.B.C.
1. A means Admit That You are a Sinner.
You need to admit that you are a sinner forgives you of your sins. Those actions and attitudes that are not pleasing to God. You need God to give you eternal life. Thus, You need God to show you His purpose for your life. The supporting verses are (1 John 1:8-9, Romans 6:23, John 10:10)

2. B means Believe That Jesus Died for Your Sins.
The penalty for your sin is death as I mentioned earlier in John 3:16. Believe that Jesus rose
from thedead and the death and resurrection of Jesus for your sins are essential for salvation. "You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe and tremble."
(James 2:19).

3. C means Confess Jesus as Lord and Savior of Your Life.
Confessing Jesus as your Lord and Savior means to commit total control of your life to Christ that lives well pleasing. If you confess Jesus as Savior of your life, the Bible says you will be saved. In Romans 10:9-10 "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

After admitting that you are a sinner, believing that Jesus died for your sin and confessing Jesus be your Lord and Savior. Please follow the prayer to completely receiving Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.

Dear God, I admit I am a sinner and I need you. Please forgive me of my sins and give me abundant life here on earth and eternal life with You in heaven. I believe You (Jesus) died and rose again for my sins. I confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus name Amen.

Colorful Tuesday

Thank God for another day, it is Tuesday. I hope everyone has a colorful and wonderful day. Always give thanks to God for all the blessings especially the air that we breath. Because without air, that means we cannot breath anymore and we are dead.

What is salvation?

Salvation means, man's acceptance of God. Salvation is deliverance from danger or suffering. The spiritual, eternal deliverance which God immediately grants to those who accept. In the Christian doctrine of salvation, we are saved from “wrath”; that is, from God’s judgement of sin ( Romans 5:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:9 ). Our sin has separated us from God, and the consequence of sin is death ( Romans 6:23 ). For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Biblical salvation refers to our deliverance from the consequence of sin and therefore involves the removal of sin. Salvation is available in Jesus alone according to John 14.6 I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the Father but by me.

Think about this

Are you a Christian? or call it Christianity. And what is the difference between Christian or born again? But there are also named Christian as a person. Well... let me give you some ideas to ponder.
Biblically, without Christ in our lives are nothing. That IAN represents that i am nothing without Christ. Being a Christian means that you are changed on the inside, not controlled from the outside. It means that your heart has been changed by the presence of God. It means you desire to do those things because you've been changed. So, being a Christian means that you have encountered the true and living God and that you have undergone a change in your heart and soul. To be a Christian means to follow Christ, to desire Him and to fellowship with Him. You accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. For instance, Christianity is not about rules and regulations to follow but it is your desire to bring glory to Him in your life. The Christian named of individual is the choice of parents. The chosen Christian name or Bible name can affect the child's perception of itself and of others. It reflects both the beliefs and the culture of the parents. Being born again, means to receive salvation and be saved through receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. In the context John 3:7 & Acts 4:12 you should not be surprised at my saying, you must be born again. Salvation is found in no one else for there in no other name had given under heaven by which we must be saved.

Good morning everyone! Praise be to God for his goodness and mercy constantly showered on us. It is a new day monday. Every time that I woke up, I thank the Lord for another day and meditating his word. I do not know why I really hate mondays, feel irritable and grumpy. But I thank God for giving me strength to overcome it. The word of God that I ponder this early morning is in the context Matthew 6:33 " Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. " Thank you Lord, for this wonderful thought that gives me strength.
